KARLATORNET

The tallest building in Scandinavia

Karlatornet will be Gothenburg's first skyscraper with its 246 meters. The location on Lindholmen means that its silhouette will be visible both from the river and from the city centre. With its 74 floors, Karlatornet houses 611 apartments, hotel, offices and a sky bar. The construction of the tower is also the start of the new district Karlastaden.

About the project

The tallest building in Scandinavia is now being built in Gothenburg. Karlatornet will be 246 meters high and a landmark that will be visible in much of the city. Ola Serneke, founder of Serneke, is himself the initiator of the project.

In 2004 the work with the project, which covers a land area of approximately 32,000 sqm, began. The area, called Karlastaden, will be a dense and vibrant mixed city and has an estimated turnover of approximately ten billion SEK over the next six to seven years.

"It is of course an honour that we at Serneke have the opportunity to be involved in developing a new unique district in central Gothenburg. We've been working on this for a long time now so it's very satisfying that we're up and running. The whole company feels enormous pride and confidence," says Ola Serneke.

Karlatornet is part of the district Karlastaden, which will consist of a total of eight blocks of housing, offices, trade and service. The intention is to create a well-integrated district that is sustainable in the ecological, economic and social sense and that lives 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The area

Karlastaden

Karlatornet is growing in the new district of Karlastaden on the expansive Lindholmen. An attractive and central location in Gothenburg, beautifully located right next to the river. In Karlastaden, eight new blocks are being built with housing, offices, shops, hotels, restaurants, school and health center. Here, a new mixed city is created, full of life and movement.

Live in Karlastaden

In Karlatornet there are a total of 611 apartments of various sizes, ranging from efficient ones of 25 sqm to apartments with three floors and almost 400 sqm. Occupants will be able to start moving in during the second half of 2022.
