We build the first establishment in the major of battery production that the company Northvolt makes in Sweden.
The plant Northvolt Labs, which is built at Finnslätten in Västerås, where several of the city's major industries are gathered, will develop and test lithium-ion batteries before large-scale production takes. Northvolt Labs will be an approximately 19 000 square metre plant which in the long run is expected to create jobs for around 300 – 400 people.
"For us it feels very exciting to be able to contribute to Northvolts future investment. At the same time, it is an important step in Sernekes continued establishment in Mälardalsområdet, says Patrik Ahlbin, manager at Serneke Bygg.
The project is a turnkey contract comprising both ground work and base plate as well as new factory hall and offices. Construction has already begun.
