Serneke Bygg has signed an agreement with Lejonfastigheter to build a new swimming hall in Linköping. The order value amounts to approximately SEK 820 million.
The new bathhouse, to be built at the southern shore of Tinnerbäcksbadet, will cover approximately 21 700 square meters and include a large swimming pool with race dimensions and space for spectator stands. There should also be a teaching pool, exercise pool, rehab pool and various departments for play, training and relaxation.
"We are glad that we are the chosen contractor who can build the new swimming hall and contribute something so positively to the residents of Linköping. It is an exciting project that we take on with great commitment, says Fredrik Elmgren, regional manager for Serneke Bygg.
"It is very satisfying that the work to construct Linköping new swimming Hall will now be realised. Lejonfastigheter is looking forward to a successful partnership with Serneke, says Christian Dahlén, project manager at Lejonfastigheter.
With its unique location and architecture, the new facility will set the tone of the district planned for within Folkunga Vallen. An architectural competition for the design of the new swimming hall was conducted in the autumn of 2016 where the winning proposal, Libra, was designed by 3XN Architects. The new swimming Hall will replace the original built in 1965 and located in the same area.
Planned construction start of the new swimming Hall is summer 2019 and the plant is expected to stand ready in the summer of 2022.
