Serneke to construct two new housing projects in Borås

6/7/2021

Serneke has signed two agreements for turnkey contracts in cooperation with HanssonGruppen Invest AB and Cernera Properties in Borås, respectively. A total of 73 apartments are to be constructed for a total value of 139 SEK million.

The two projects to be constructed are the Atelier tenant-owned housing association for HanssonGruppen Invest and Port 17 for Cernera Fastigheter.

The Atelier project comprises 25 apartments in a two-story superstructure above the former Erlahuset clothing factory in central Borås. The homes have been inspired by the creative workplaces used by fashion designers and master tailors to highlight the textiles heritage of the City of Borås. Each apartment will have a balcony overlooking central Borås.

“Being able to finally implement this project with Serneke is both fun and exciting. Sales have progressed very well, so now is right time to get started. We feel that we are in very safe hands with Serneke, whose superior expertise and genuine commitment are integral parts of the culture we have shared since we began our collaboration in 2002,” says Stefan Hansson, CEO of Hansson Holding.

Port 17 will be a tenant-owner association with 48 apartments in Byttorp, just outside Borås. Inspired by the site and its surroundings, Port 17 will comprise two buildings connected by a shared courtyard and rooftop walkway. The apartments will range in size from studio apartments to apartments with four bedrooms, living room and kitchen, and all will have large windows, with the living rooms facing southwest onto generous balconies and ground-floor patios.

“With its central location, Port 17 has become a popular project, and the homes have sold out quickly. We have collaborated with Serneke on several earlier projects and are certain that the partnership will work just as well this time too,” says Martin Svärd, CFO and Deputy CEO at Cernera Fastigheter.

“These will be two very pleasant tenant-owner housing associations offering that little bit extra, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to conduct these projects alongside HanssonGruppen and Cernera Fastigheter. We face specific challenges because of the central location and the existing operations at Brf Atelier, and it will be a cramped work site, with a garage also being constructed beneath the Port 17 buildings. However, these are issues of which we have some experience, and I am certain that we will overcome them valiantly,” says Peter Andersson, Works Manager at Serneke.

Both projects will commence in July and are scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2022.

The agreements are valued at 65 SEK million for Brf Atelier, and at 74 SEK million for Port 17 respectively, and will be included in the order bookings for the second quarter of 2021.
