Top apartment in Karlatornet sold at record price
The second of the two top-level apartments in the Karlatornet tower has now been sold. For the purchase price of SEK 66 million, the buyer obtains 365 m2 distributed between three stories at a height of 245 meters
Other features of the penthouse apartment now sold within the Nordic region’s tallest building include five bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen, as well as a private spa with a sauna, pool and a 71-m2 roof-top terrace. The apartment also offers views in three directions. The apartment spans stories 71 – 73, has floor-to-ceiling windows and ceiling heights of up to 7.5 meters. The residence is subject to full title, with the owner being scheduled to move in during the summer of 2024.
“We are pleased that another residence in Karlatornet has been sold and naturally it is particularly satisfying that this was the second of the two top-level apartments. We are seeing considerable interest in the apartments in general and we naturally hope that a sale like this can further contribute to that interest,” says Ola Serneke, CEO of Serneke Invest and himself the owner of the other penthouse apartment.
The buyer, who wishes to remain anonymous, is a UK citizen with family connections in Gothenburg and business links to a market in the Nordic region.
“The buyer considers the Karlatornet tower and Gothenburg as a hugely exciting place in which to live and the perfect option given his domestic situation. I venture to say that the apartment offers a truly unique accommodation solution, unequaled within Europe,” says Niklas Berntzon, agent for realtor ESNY, which brokered the transaction.
The Karlatornet tower will have 611 apartments in total. Currently, 489 of these have been sold. Homeowners will begin moving into Karlatornet in August 2023, with full occupancy scheduled for completion about six months later.
Construction of Karlatornet has currently reached 66 stories and a height of 211 meters. On completion, Karlatornet will have 74 stories and a height of 246 meters, making it the Nordic region’s tallest building and the EU’s tallest residential building.
