The assignment on behalf of Göteborg Energi at Rantorget was completed in the summer of 2014. Serneke constructed an office building measuring some 7,500 m² and completely renovated the existing 16,000 m² building.
The project was split into two stages. The first stage was commenced at the start of 2011 and was ready for occupancy during spring 2013. The stage entailed the construction of a new office area measuring 7,500 m², connected to the existing building via a natural light foyer.
- We are very pleased with the result. It has turned out magnificently and the employees are very happy in their new premises, says Tomas Reuterberg, project manager at Göteborg Energi.
The second stage involved the complete renovation of the current 16,000 m² building including providing it with a new exterior profile.
The building has been classified as a green building which means that the energy consumption is very low. This has been made possible by smart energy solutions such as well-sealed windows, good insulation, solar cells, net energy displacement and solar shields. The high demands in the project requirements have been met and surpassed.
The project was run as a collaborative contract, which meant that the parties took joint responsibility and geared with budgetary targets openly and in full knowledge of both parties. The total contract value was just below SEK 330 million.
